Manual Therapy

Coming from a background in massage and later, chiropractic, Luvia's approach to manual therapy is deeply rooted in body mechanics and structure. Fascination with how that structural architecture responds to and affects subtler dynamics of flow and motion — on both grand and minute levels —  has spurred over forty years of exploration in movement and dance therapies, oriental medicine, homeopathy and other vibrational remedies, along with a wide range of energy-based practices.

Her ever-evolving private practice currently incorporates various light-touch therapies such as craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation, gentle techniques that assist brain function and mobility (developed by Bruno Chikly, MD, DO, LMT), as well as elements of chiropractic care and myofascial mobilization.

Through The Upledger Institute, Luvia is a diplomate certified practitioner (CST-D), a certified mentor and an instructor of Craniosacral Therapy.

"It's been said that when you focus on something, it eventually expands. So does consciousness. At times, within the sacredness of focused stillness during treatment sessions, I wonder if that's the real catalyst for change. In this sense, my work becomes an offering and a prayer to no one in particular, and to all that is."
